All expenses paid trip to visit Street Child's projects in Sierra Leone, take part in a unique sporting challenge and create positive change for children living in one of the world's poorest countries.
Will you take on the challenge and adventure of visiting Sierra Leone, enter the Sierra Leone Marathon (half marathon or 10k) and raise funds for the vital work of Norfolk-born charity, Street Child? We are looking for an ambitious, driven and socially-conscious person aged 18-30 to win this once in a lifetime opportunity to experience Sierra Leone - all expenses paid.
This is a chance to have your own African adventure, travel to one of the most beautiful and unique parts of West Africa all the while helping to improve the lives of thousands of vulnerable children in Sierra Leone.
Street Child is a volunteer-led, international charity which was established in 2008 with the aim to empower vulnerable children through giving them sustainable access to education. The recent Ebola crisis has left more children than ever without a stable home environment and having to rely on living off the streets. Street Child wants to give as many children the opportunity to alter this potential destitute future they are currently facing. They need your help!
As part of Street Child’s commitment to continued engagement in the work we do, we have secured funding to support a young person from Norfolk to come to Sierra Leone, take part in the challenge and learn about the charity’s work.
This opportunity will provide you with:
A funded week-long trip to visit Street Child projects in Sierra Leone, participate in the Sierra Leone Marathon, stay on one of the country’s stunning beaches, visit the bustling markets and take a trip into remote rural villages. Includes flights, accommodation, in-country travel, food and race entry.
Experience and learn about the workings of an international development charity first-hand
A full reference upon completion
Experience in fundraising and project management
What do you have to do?
Participate in the Street Child Sierra Leone Marathon (or half marathon or 10k).
Fundraise to ensure we are able to continue supporting vulnerable children in Sierra Leone.
Learn about the work of the charity during your trip and tell people about it on your return
